One of my favorite children's books is The Best Nest by P.D. Eastman which I've read aloud to preschoolers. To dramatize Mr. Bird's love of his home, I gave his song a simple melody.

Aching Knees But...
I couldn't resist planting peas, bunching onions, and Johnny-Jump-Ups in those pots of leftover soil. I'm done for the day-- not just with gardening but all together spent.
There is nothing like physical exhaustion for rest and contemplation.
